A huge three-bedroom apartment in Jackson Heights is being sold for only $650,000, according to DNAinfo.
The top floor apartment of the Chateau complex, at 34th Avenue and 80th Street, also features an extra room built into the roof. In addition to the extra 12’-by-12’ rooftop room, the apartment features two bathrooms, a dining room, a wood-burning fireplace and walk-in closet. It also has access to the building’s garden.
Jon Fisher from Douglas Elliman listed the apartment. The buyer and size of the apartment in square feet was not disclosed in the report.
The additional room is accessed through the roof. The previous owners of the apartment used it as a library, but Fisher said it could also be used for a artist or writer’s studio.
Although apartments of this size range in price from $500,000 to $700,000 in Jackson Heights, they tend to sell for triple that price in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
The Chateau is a 12-building Neo-French Renaissance-style housing complex that was built by Andrew Thomas in 1922. [DNAinfo] – James Comtois
