The managers of a condominium in Gramercy say the city replaced precious parking slots designated for residents with a king-sized bus stop.
According to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court by the board of 340 East 23rd Street, the city’s Department of Transportation allegedly extended the length of a bus stop in front of the building by 120 feet instead of the 20-foot extension the Metropolitan Transportation Authority requested.
The original bus stop, installed in 2011, only took up six metered parking spots, the New York Daily News reported.
The board also recently filed suit against a resident couple who rented out their apartment to short-term tenants who hosted wild parties and vandalized the property, as The Real Deal previously reported.
